MELVILLE <== WORKSHOP
AT JSY JSY
will be hosting a 2-day workshop in the fall with none other than nationally
acclaimed Sally
Melville. Anyone
and everyone who has ever been to one of her workshops will tell you it is well
worth your time & money! Sally
Melville is best described as a knitting coach: at your side encouraging you to
progress in your knitting, providing hints and tips, rescuing you when you make
mistakes, and showing you not only how to knit but how to enjoy life while
knitting. Details:
(last updated on ==> April 19th.)

At beg of next 3 RS rows, bind off 1 st. Work 8 rows straight. Bind
off
all sts.

results.

More homework yarn + part balls of 2 solid colors.
Homework:
With
worsted weight yarn and appropriate circular needle, cast on 20 sts.

Measures
"Something is really wrong!" "This is a
drastic mistake!" "What a mess!"
"It's too short!" "It's too long!" "It's too
wide!" "It's too narrow!" "It's outdated!"
"The color's bad!" "The edge isn't holding up!" "I'm
out of yarn!" "I forgot it!"
Hold on! There are remedies. Everyone struggles. But you may become
insightful, intuitive and more confident learning these emergency measures.
Materials:
Yarn (same weight as Homework
piece).

a 4" wide swatch in St St for 3" length: work 1 row in a 2x2 color

FINAL REGISTRATION AND ALL CLASS FEES DUE:
September 20th will be the final date for
registrations and all class fees to be paid. This
workshop promises to be an enjoyable experience that will reward us all - in so
many ways. Just
meeting and greeting Sally Melville and other local knitters should prove to be a worthwhile experience
on it's own. Simple
bio: Sally Melville began knitting early with the Brownies.
She lives in Ontario Canada and travels the world over promoting our passion. Her series "The Knitting Experience" (3 books) is a
revolution in the why's and wherefores of knitting. Knitwear designs, expanding the garter-stitch repertoire of The Knit Stitch to stockinette stitch,
reverse stockinette, ribbed patterns, and mixed knit and purl patterns in
garments for women, men, and children, right and left-carry instructions for
the purl stitch and many many more techniques are gloriously illustrated with a
succession of clear photographs. Sally also touches on the somewhat unusual
technique of purling with the yarn tensioned around the knitter's neck. Advanced
knitters will enjoy patterns like "Not Your Mother's Suit Coat."
Whatever your particular fancy, Sally is bound to expand, expound and export you
toward a better world of knitting and crocheting. BUY HER BOOKS. READ HER
BOOKS. BE FOREVER TRANSFORMED! (top)
